Frank Smith Park in Coromandel Valley is a significant district park in the City of Onkaparinga, providing over seven hectares of open space for formal and informal, casual and structured sporting and recreational activities.

The City of Onkaparinga sought a needs assessment to assist in the development of a Master Plan for the park to ensure its facilities meet the current and future sport and active recreation needs of residents in Coromandel Valley and the surrounding areas - recognising that the park had developed more organically over time but is seeing increased interest from various sporting codes and interest groups.

Planning Futures managed preparation of the Master Plan in partnership with Outer Space Landscape Architects.

This included engagement of the local community, schools and recreation groups, infrastructure assessment and review, and identification of current and future recreation and open space needs for the local community to develop future directions and a vision for the park and the ultimate Master Plan.
