Greater Edinburgh Parks provided an unprecedented opportunity to deliver the largest and most comprehensive industrial and enterprise precinct in South Australia, building on its proximity to the new major road infrastructure including the Northern Expressway and Northern Connector, developing intermodal facilities, and defence activities at the Edinburgh RAAF base / DSTO. 

Planning Futures was responsible for authoring a Development Plan Amendment on behalf of the Government and Greater Edinburgh Parks Working Group to rezone the area to facilitate development of a high-quality enterprise precinct that accommodates a range of industrial, distribution, research, technology and defence-related land uses. 

Planning Futures also worked with Departmental staff and the Working Group to develop a Structure Plan for the precinct as part of the broader structure planning for the City of Playford (Playford Projects). 

Part 1 of the DPA was approved by the Minister for Planning in December 2013, while part 2 was approved on 29 August 2019.
